Sex party in Brussels: MEP Szájer apologies only for breaching lockdown rules?
József Szájer, an MEP of Hungary’s ruling Fidesz, has apologised for violating lockdown rules by attending a house party in Brussels last Friday. He has also extended his apology to his family, colleagues and his supporters.
Szájer issued a statement on Tuesday in response to Belgian media reports on a party attended by an MEP. In the statement Szájer acknowledged that he was present at the event and indicated to police officers at the scene that he was an MEP. However, because he did not have his ID with him, the authorities investigated the incident and issued him a verbal warning before taking him home.
Szájer denied allegations that he had used drugs at the party, saying he had offered to be tested, but the police declined his offer.
Police reported finding ecstasy pills in Szájer’s possession, which the politician said were not his.
Szájer said he did not know how the pills had ended up in his possession, adding that he had reaffirmed this in an official statement to police.

The MEP said it was irresponsible of him to violate Belgium’s lockdown rules. He said he was prepared to face any penalties for his action he regretted.
Szájer said he had faced the consequences of the incident by resigning as an MEP.
Szájer announced his resignation on Sunday, effective Dec. 31, saying that his decision marked the end of a “long period of reflection”.
“I have drawn the personal and political consequences [of my action] in form of the resignation I tendered on Sunday. I apologise to my family, colleagues and supporters and I am asking them to assess my misstep in light of the 30 years of dedicated work [as a politician],”
Szájer said in the statement.

WOOOW!!!
Why is the DNH being so coy? The full facts are in the worldwide media: it was a gay sex orgy held at a gay bar in Brussels. The offence most people were charged with was fir breaking the Covid rules about how many people can socialise. However, Szajer tried to escape the police by climbing through a window and down a drain pipe (while still naked). In his bag police found a number of ecstasy tablets. He then tried to claim Diplomatic Immunity (which does not apply to criminal offences which the possession/supply of Class A drugs is one).
I don’t understand the headline: if the bag of ecstasy pills are genuinely not his, then apart from violating Belgian lockdown rules then what else is he supposed to apologise for? Private gay sex orgies held in private gay clubs are legal in Belgium (and most EU countries). Of course, it could be argued that he should apologise to the LGBT community for his having been a rank hypocrite all these years…..
Politics – sympathy to Prime Minister – Victor Orban, this embarrassment of presumed un-acceptable behaviour by Jozsef Szajer.
Victor Orban, our celebrated Prime Minister, is wise to the – back dooring – or – sucking up – that is imbedded into the culture of Politicians – Political life.
Rumours have been rife for some years of a sexuality indifference of Jozsef Szajer.
Sadly – it does appear he has not just come out of the closet on this occasion, but in fact fallen flat on his back or front, in an extremely unusual or precarious position, that will require factorial explanation.
The private lives of those in high profile public positions, respect for Privacy should be afforded them.
If you choose to move outside the “terra firma” grounds of your high profiled public position in life – expose open up yourself – for media examination, to your peril you may descend, possible perish.
This climatic explosive situation from a political and personal perspective, that Jozsef Szajer – has bought upon himself, indicates a poor sense of thinking, that by the – exposing – of himself – into a social environment as claimed, the gay frivolities of life, may have been removed from his life-style.
Life to-day has a tolerance with the varieties and styles of sexuality that makes this world of the 21st century.
Personally, using a Golfing term of usage – I don’t care, if you – putt from the rough, – but its safer if your balls land on the green.
